Rossdales' dentistry experts are in demand as course lecturers, as well as for their practical skills in attending our clients’ horses locally and seeing referral cases at the hospital for advanced dentistry procedures.
On 13th May, Mark Grant gave a presentation on CT imaging at the British Association of Equine Dental Technicians (BAEDT) Congress at Hartpury, Gloucestershire. The following week, both Mark and Tim Barnett attended the European Veterinary Dental Forum (EVDF) in Malaga, where Tim presented a paper on the Use of Ultrasonography in Equine Dental Surgery.
On 24-25 May, Mark was a lecturer at the BEVA Older Horse course held at Redwings Horse Sanctuary in Norfolk. This included presenting lectures on Geriatric Dentistry and Sinus Disease, plus 'hands on' practical teaching covering routine dentistry, nerve blocks, diastema/periodontal treatment and an introduction to tooth extractions.
In August, Tim is course organiser and a speaker on a course entitled ‘Practical Dental and Sinus Surgery’ at Rossdales Equine Hospital, which is already fully booked and will include lectures and wet labs.
Also in August, Mark will be a lecturer on the British Veterinary Dental Association (BVDA)/BEVA Advanced Theoretical Equine Dental Technicians (EDT) course, which takes place in Birmingham on 18-19 August. This will cover a variety of dental issues and is aimed at veterinarians and the more experienced EDT who wishes to sit the BEVA/BVDA EDT examination in the future.
